Cannabis and yoga have been paired together for thousands of years. The meditative state that yoga produces can interact incredibly well with cannabis.
“the subtler attainments come with birth or are attained through herbs, mantra, austerities or concentration…” (Yoga Sutras 4.1)

What is Yoga?
Yoga was originally designed as an exercise routine to form a synergy between the “lower and higher self” as well as aligning other philosophical ideologies that were seen as culturally significant.
Introduced to the Western hemisphere on a large scale in the late 19th century, yoga has found many variations across the world.
Indian Yoga and Western Yoga can be differentiated by how yoga has developed into a stress-relieving, posture-based exercise with less spiritual connotations outside its country of origin. Indian yoga, in contrast, serves as a vessel for a meditative and spiritual practice that has importance within the Hindu religion. This religion also incorporates cannabis as a meditative and ritualistic substance.
Yoga International recommends a 10-15 minute routine of yoga each day to avoid the telltale signs of burnout as well as giving the body time and space to relax and somewhat reset.
Ganja Yoga – The Links Between Cannabis and Yoga
Even the word ganja is from the same region as yoga. The word ganja originates from Sanskrit which is an Indo-Aryan language that was used in the region of India and elsewhere.
The term ganja also has an important link to the Ganges River in India which is where some of the first cannabis Indica was known to have grown naturally (landrace). Many confuse the origin of the word ganja as being from Jamaica, but, it has always been from India.
The ancient Hindu god Shiva is linked to cannabis consistently throughout Hindu culture. Whether smoking a chillum pipe or burning cannabis as incense, Hindu temples are full of ritualistic cannabis users to this day.
In locations where cannabis is legal, ganja yoga can be found quite easily with a simple google search.
Vaping Dried Cannabis Before Yoga
Vaping dried cannabis flower is an efficient way to consume cannabis.
This type of vaporizer allows cannabinoids to be directly vaporized off the cannabis (usually by using convection or conduction heating), Some of these cannabinoids will help with pain relief, athletic recovery, and even performance.
In addition, the already vaped cannabis can also be used in cannabis edibles!
Cannabis Edibles Suitable for Yoga
Cannabis edibles will vary highly in terms of potency from person to person and batch to batch. The strength of your infusion (butter, coconut oil, etc), will have a direct correlation with how much you should eat.
Another extremely important factor in this process is your own personal tolerance for cannabis edibles. Also, some people may find that edibles before yoga is not suitable, but, those same people may find them beneficial after any kind of exercise.
